DAY CAMP 2010
Each Day Camp session will focus on skill development for young soccer players. Campers will learn soccer skills and techniques through exercises and games specifically designed for the young player. Campers are encouraged to learn and develop at their own pace under the careful guidance of the director and his expert staff. The emphasis is always on fun and learning.
Time
Day Camp I (June 14-18), Day Camp II (June 21-25) and Day Camp III (July 26-30) will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the University of Akron campus.
The Staff
Coach Porter has worked hard to bring together his staff of college coaches, high school coaches as well as some of Akron’s top players. Your skills and overall playing ability will advance with the experience & knowledge of our coaching staff. Our coaches are known for the quality of their teaching. Certified Athletic Trainers are on duty at all times to handle any medical needs. All activities are carefully supervised. Camper to staff ratio is approximately 8-1.
Facilities
The Akron Soccer Day Camp provides an exceptional learning environment. Fine training facilities, nice grass and sports turf fields, indoor gyms, and a pool, all enhance the camp experience.
Cost
The camp fee is $215.00 per session. A reduced rate of $200.00 per camper is available to University of Akron employees and families enrolling more than one child or enrolling one child for more than one week. Campers can bring a ball from home or purchase a hand stitched Akron ball for $25.00. Campers will also bring their lunch from home each day but will be provided a snack in the morning. Call for information on team rates. You may also register online at www.AkronSoccerCamp. There is a $5 handling fee added when registering on line; you can pay the full fee or a $100 deposit at the time of registration.
Those who cannot attend camp for medical or other reasons will be refunded all but a $50 administrative fee. To receive a refund the camp office must be notified at least 72 hours before registration. The balance is due the first day of camp.
Little Stars
The little stars section of camp is a great way to expose boys and girls aged 4-6 to soccer in a fun and safe environment. Camp will run from 9-11 a.m. daily. The main objective is to teach basic soccer skills and games. The cost for a week of camp is $85.00 and includes ball and an Akron Zips Soccer T-Shirt.
