2012 marks the third year of the Akron Soccer Winter Goalkeeping Camp. This two-day camp will focus on the technical and tactical skills needed to succeed in one of the most demanding positions in all of team sports.  Sessions for the weekend will be conducted by the University of Akron Goal-Keeping Coach, Liam Curran and his staff, of consisting of some of the nation’s top goalkeeper coaches, as well as past and present goalkeepers from The University of Akron.

Akron Soccer is becoming known as a breading ground for top-flight goalkeepers.  Our experienced staff will teach you the key technical, tactical, physical and psychological aspects of this crucial position.  Topics covered include

•           handling
•         low, medium, high and forward diving
•         breakaways
•         distribution
•         boxing
•         crosses
•         extending your range
•         boxing
•         building muscle memory
•         goalkeeper specific fitness
•         nutrition

Campers should be ready for camp to commence Friday night at 5pm and conclude Saturday night by 9:00 pm. 

Facilities
The Winter Goalkeeping Camp will be held in the state of the art Akron Field House.  This facility contains a 120 yard long field turf soccer field.  To view images of The Athletic Field House, go online to www.gozips.com.

Housing and Meals
Housing and meals are not included in the camp price therefore players who are attending from outside the area will need to make their own arrangements prior to attending camp. Who Can Attend
Camp is open to boys and girls ages 8-18.  Spots are very limited and players will be grouped by age and ability.
