Elite Camp
Our overall goal for the Elite Camp is to educate and challenge the serious soccer player. This camp is designed for players who already have a solid understanding of the game and are capable of a challenging and complex curriculum.
Our Elite Camp will offer intense technical and tactical sessions, detailed soccer lectures by our coaching staff as well as advanced speed and agility sessions. These camps will focus more on the advanced aspects of the game with a concentrated focus on improved decision making and overall understanding of the game.
Junior Elite Camp (10-14): a focus will be placed on the introduction of several advanced aspects of the game. This camp is designed to help teach young players about the tactical side of the game while improving their decision making through training and match play. Tactical lec¬tures and speed and agility sessions are some of the special features that will be offered at the camp.
Senior Elite Camp (15-18): the curriculum is designed to challenge each player through match play coupled with tactical training sessions. A recruiting seminar, and nightly all-star games with and against our staff are some of the special features that will be offered to the camp. This camp is geared toward the serious player who has aspirations of playing in college or beyond. This group will be staffed by college coaches from some of the top schools in the country.
Advanced Camp
The focus of this camp will be on the development of soccer players at every level. The mission of the Advanced Camp is to provide a challenging environment of intense training with an extreme focus on the technical ability of each player.
Exercises and games will be specifically designed to keep players under constant pressure throughout the week resulting in a higher “comfort level” on the ball.
This camp is not an introduction to soccer, but should be used to enhance and refine existing skills through repetition and proper instruction. Campers will initially be grouped by age and adjustments will be made according to skill levels in order to create a learning environment that further challenges each individual.
Every day will incorporate three field sessions consisting of: individual ball skills, technical training, tactical training, and small sided/full sided games.
*Technical Development is the main priority of this camp and is suited for players of all ages and skill levels.
Elite Camp vs. Advanced Camp...Which is Right For You?
If you have been to numerous skill development camps, you may find our Elite Camp to be the next step in challenging your decision-making abilities and overall understanding of the game at the next level. This camp traditionally has more games than training sessions and will focus on your tactical understanding of the game. Both camps provide game opportunities in the evening to help measure your improvements over the course of your camp experience.
If you are looking for a camp to develop your technical ability and refine your existing soccer skills, then the Advanced Camp is the correct choice. This camp traditionally focuses on your ability with the ball at your feet in high-pressure situations.
Goalkeeping Sessions
Specialized goalkeeping sessions are held each week of camp. Akron is becoming known as the breeding ground for top-flight goalkeepers. At the Akron Soccer Camp the goalkeeper is not the “forgotten player.” Our experienced goalkeeping staff will teach you the key technical, tactical, psychological, and physical aspects of this crucial position. Individualized training and evaluation is only one aspect of our goalkeeping program.
The training experience is further enhanced as the goalkeepers are incorporated into small and large group tactical and technical training activities with the field players. These match-related activities provide the goalkeepers an opportunity to blend technical fundamentals with tactical decision making. The goalkeepers are also evaluated as they perform in 11v11 matches everyday. The combination of individual and team training is an integral part in the development of a goalkeeper.
