Winter Junior Elite Camp Overview
2008 marks the first year of The Akron Zips Junior Elite Camp, featuring the staff of The Akron Zips Men's Soccer Team as well as other top coaches from across the country. This three-day event is designed for advanced player development and high level training from some of the nation's top coaches. In addition to the top club and college coaches, several Zips players will be employed by the camp for demonstration purposes.

The Akron Soccer Staff believes that "the game is the best teacher." The same philosophy will be applied at camp. The focus of all activities will be learning through play. Enrollment in the camp will be extremely limited to allow individual attention for each player from the staff of exceptional coaches. A combination of small sided and full 11 vs 11 games will be at the core of the camp curriculum.

There will be two separate sessions to allow for the expected high demand. The placement into each session will be at the discretion of the camp staff. Players should plan on being available Friday night beginning at 5:00 pm, all day Saturday and finishing Sunday afternoon by 3:00 pm. After the first session on Friday night, players will be notified as to what schedule they will be on for the rest of the weekend.

Facilities
The Winter Junior Elite Camp will be held in the state of the art Akron Field House. This facility contains a 120 yard long field turf soccer field. To view images of The Athletic Field House, go online to www.gozips.com.

Housing and Meals
Housing and meals are not included in the camp price therefore players who are attending from outside the area will need to make their own arrangements prior to attending camp.

Who Can Attend?
Camp is open to boys ages 10-14. Field players and goalkeepers are welcome, however goalkeeper slots are very limited and will fill up quickly. Because of the nature of this camp, activities are designed and the focus will be on high-level soccer players. Players interested in camp should be involved in State, Regional, or National ODP, or be a member of a highly competitive club team. This is not a camp geared toward beginning or recreational level players.
